What are your influences in life? What’s your inspiration for life? Are you following behind the wrong crowd? Many times following behind the wrong people can lead to destruction in life.

You have the choice to either be a leader or a follower. You’re either in the driver’s seat or you’re in the passenger’s seat. Which will it be? Read More→

Many times we find ourselves falling victim to stagnation. I’ll be the first to admit that I get caught lying dormant in my comfort zone.

It’s easy to become comfortable and settled because it relieves us of the responsibility of thinking outside of the box. Sometimes when we know that there is a task to do, we do only what it takes to get the job done.

We don’t always challenge ourselves and go the extra mile, we Read More→

Have An Ear To Hear

Posted by: | Comments (0)

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, (James 1:19)

How often do you find yourself in a conversation when you discover that you’re doing most of the talking? In essence, a true conversation is when both entities equally share the same amount of ideas and concepts but it doesn’t always end up being that way.

Many times misunderstandings stem from not knowing the other person’s point of view or where they are truly coming from.

Misunderstandings can lead to a loss of friendship, hurt feelings, or they can even lead to someone doing something that they will later regret.

As the scripture says, “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” This is the spirit in which God wants us to operate in. Read More→

Change Is Not A Bad Thing

Posted by: | Comments (0)

(Ephesians 4:21) If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
(22) that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, (23) and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, (24) and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Accepting change can be a difficult thing when it puts us out of our comfort zone. Sometimes we become so stagnant in where we are that it’s hard to accept when God is moving in our lives.

Sometimes what seems like a curse is really a blessing in disguise. When it seems like the enemy is gaining ground, sometimes, is Gods way of preparing the way for a blessing in our lives.

Henceforth we become closed minded to change and we get discouraged and assume the enemy is plotting an attack.

Comfort Zone... Friends I encourage you to have an open mind when God is moving in your lives. In order for God to take us to the next level sometime He has to break down some of the damage that has been done in order to make way for improvement. Read More→

Embrace Who You Are

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” –Reinhold Niebuhr

Learn to embrace who you are. God made us all different for a reason. We must learn to love and accept ourselves just as we are.

Many times we get so focused on trying to impress other people and looking for validation from others that we miss our mark on life. We miss our true purpose because were focusing on the wrong things.

Friend I always say that it’s not what others say about you, it’s what God says about you that counts.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to loose weight or dye your hair or buy the latest trendy outfit. However, you must ask yourself why do you want to do these things.

If you want to do it because it will win the approval of others or even just because everyone else is doing it, then that’s the wrong reason to do things in life. However, if you want to do things simply because you like it and it makes you feel better about yourself then I believe that’s okay. Read More→

Live Life In The Moment

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Are you living life in the moment, or are you worrying about things that are out of your control? Friend I’ve come to tell you that time is too precious to spend it worrying on things that are out of your control.

I’ve heard many stories of people who’ve had near death experiences and they come back to life with a new appreciation for life. I hear how they have a new found appreciation for life in general. They are actively engaging in doing things for others and they treasure time, whereas before, they didn’t value the little things in life just as many of us don’t.

Friend, don’t let it come to a near death experience for you to be grateful for the “little things” in life. Treasure those things and people around you today while you are yet living.

I’m reminded of Charles Dickens’ movie, “A Christmas Carol” with Ebeneezer Scrooge. It took him dying to realize that he needed to change his ways. Don’t let it come to that, put the spotlight on yourself and evaluate what you need to do to make things right. Appreciate every opportunity given to you. Read More→

5 Things To Be Thankful For

Posted by: | Comments (0)

It’s very easy to fall into a mindset of worry and doubt in this day in time. With the economy being in the state that it is, it’s tough to keep a positive outlook on life.

Sometimes you may find it tough to count your blessings, so just as a reminder, below is a list of 5 things to be thankful for:

1) Be thankful for your health and strength.

God’s grace and mercy is amazing. He continues to wake us up every day, even when we don’t deserve it. Remember there is someone on their death bed or even worse, someone who didn’t wake up this morning. It sounds cliche but be thankful that you have legs to walk and a tongue to talk. No one is promised tomorrow. Read More→

Grab Hold of Your Harvest

Posted by: | Comments (1)

We are well into the harvest season and God is waiting on the right opportunity to bless you. I dare you to reach up by faith and grab your harvest.

Your harvest is promised to you. It may not be tangible right now but know that God will pour out more blessings than you have room to receive.

I looked up the definition of harvest on the web and it is defined as “crop: the yield from plants in a single growing season.”

It is also defined as “the season for gathering crops.” When I think of a harvest I also think of the season where crops are plentiful as a result of the rain. Read More→
