A wise man once said, “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”
Do you make excuses for not being able to do great things in life? Sometimes we want the end results but we don’t necessarily want to do the hard work that it takes to get there.
Discipline is a powerful trait to have because it keeps us on top of our toes in terms of growth and overcoming challenges. Discipline provides a rebuttal for every excuse that we make and gives us the motivation to work hard regardless of those excuses.
I looked up the definition of discipline on the web and it is defined as: “a : control gained by enforcing obedience or order b : orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior c : self-control.” (Merriam-webster.com)
Let’s say you want to start a work out routine. Many times we make excuses for ourselves on why we shouldn’t work out or why we should quit after not seeing results. Those excuses are a direct result of our negative self talk.
It takes self-discipline to not only start a work out routine but to be committed to it. It’s almost like we have to take a personal oath when we set a new goal in our life. Whether it be working out, starting a business, learning an instrument or even learning a sport. Read More→

…(Ephesians 4:21) If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
(22) that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, (23) and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, (24) and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Accepting change can be a difficult thing when it puts us out of our comfort zone. Sometimes we become so stagnant in where we are that it’s hard to accept when God is moving in our lives.
Sometimes what seems like a curse is really a blessing in disguise. When it seems like the enemy is gaining ground, sometimes, is Gods way of preparing the way for a blessing in our lives.
Henceforth we become closed minded to change and we get discouraged and assume the enemy is plotting an attack.
Friends I encourage you to have an open mind when God is moving in your lives. In order for God to take us to the next level sometime He has to break down some of the damage that has been done in order to make way for improvement. Read More→

The holidays are one of the most joyous times of the year. Unfortunately, for some it can be a rather difficult time of year. As we grow older, we find that it’s not as easy to get into the Christmas spirit as it was when we were younger.
We put so much pressure on ourselves during the holidays that we forget what it’s like to have fun during the holidays. Here is a list of things to do during the holidays to help relieve stress and develop the Christmas spirit.
1) Decorate Around The House.
For me one of the best ways to get into the Christmas spirit is putting up the Christmas decorations around the house. Some people might say it’s a chore, but instead, look at it as an opportunity to put all your cares aside and focus on having fun during the Christmas season.
2) Spend Time With Family and Friends.
Throughout the year, it’s can be hard to commit time to family because of our hectic schedules. However, one of the best ways to relax during the Christmas season is to commit time to family and friends. Especially those who you don’t get to see throughout the year. Read More→

As Christmas draws closer, it can be a rather stressful time trying to meet deadlines. It’s easy to focus on all of the negative aspects of the holidays such as the rush of Christmas shopping, crazy traffic, not knowing what to get friends and family, or even feeling obligated to give to everyone.
Therefore, Christmas can be a stressful time of year. I want to remind you to take a step back and be in the moment this holiday season. As cliche as it sounds, remember the real reason for the season.
Over the years, the world has taken Christ out of Christmas and put the focus on other tangible things. Remember if it wasn’t for the Birth of Christ we would not be saved. We wouldn’t have the right to a tree of life.
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Friend, because God sent His son Jesus, our lives are forever changed. We know this because, in John 10:10, Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees and He says, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Read More→

They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, (Romans 1:29 ESV)
There may come a time, if you haven’t already faced it, when you come across haters in life. The sad thing is, everybody that you make acquaintance with are not always going to be supportive of you.
I encourage you to stay motivated, regardless of the haters that you may face. Friend, it may help to know that when you have people hating on you or what you’re shooting for in life, it just means that you’re doing something good. When people hate on you, it also means that they don’t have confidence in themselves to do the things that you’ve done or accomplished in life.
Next time you face someone who looks down on you, or tries to convince you that it’s worthless to dream big and set goals, that is a time to pray on their behalf. Read More→
