It can be a hard thing to put action to something when we don’t have the inspiration to do it. I’ve heard many stories of people who want to learn how to do something, but they don’t have the inspiration to do it.

For instance, lets say you want to learn how to play the guitar, and you really want to get good at it but it seems as though you are stuck in a rut. It seems as though there is little to no progress so they find that they no longer have the inspiration or the zeal to pick up that guitar.

Below are 5 tips in which you will learn how to develop inspiration:

1) Expose yourself to things that will inspire you. – Now days there are so many venues, which we don’t access, that will inspire us. There is inspiration in music, arts, culture and books. You can also seek out someone in your area, who is developed and skilled in the area of which you are lacking inspiration; which leads me to my next point.

2) Hang Around Inspirational People. – When you hang around people who aren’t encouraging, you will find that you loose motivation. However, if you position yourself around people who are positive and inspiring, then you become inspired also. Inspiration is enough to help us break out of our rut and progress in life.

3) Utilize Modern Day Technology. – We live in a day where the internet is becoming the “go-to” place for information. It use to be so that if we wanted to find out more about a topic, all we had were encyclopedias and the local library. Now days we have social media sites like youtube, twitter, and facebook.

For instance, the person, of whom I spoke of before who wants to learn the guitar, has the opportunity to utilize youtube because there are many video tutorials there of talented individuals who are inspiring. Facebook has groups and fan pages that you can befriend. There you will find others who have questions such as you do.

4) Pray – Remember, prayer is simply having a conversation with God. If you’re thinking that you have no where to turn when you’re lacking inspiration, know that you’re not alone. God is with you and He will encourage you when it seems like all is lost.

5) Think Positively – People who are the most successful at something: whether it be in the area of music, business, sports… you name it; they had days where they lost inspiration. Even the people who are passionate, and were born with a special gift, loose inspiration at some point in time. We fight this by having a spirit of perseverance. We should have an attitude that no matter what, I will keep trying until I see results.

A wise man once said, “Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure.” The enemy will place strongholds in our mind and make us feel as though were not going to make it. Sometimes you may think, “I might as well quit because I’m not seeing results.” However I dare you to keep trying, remember, the moment we stop trying thats where failure begins.

Every since we were in grade school, we’ve been looking outside of ourselves for influences. We’ve based who we were on those that were closest to us. We saw traits in others and we modeled ourselves after those people.

I’m a firm believer in the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Outside influences stem from parents, extended relatives, close peers, teachers even the regular greeter at the local food market has a hand in influencing children. It is what we learned from those individuals that conformed us into who we are as a person today.

As we get older, we realize that people come and people go but our natural habits stay the same. Now we’re in high-school and we’re exposed to a totally different group of people. Again, we naturally gravitate to those who influence us in some form or another; Sometimes it’s a good influence, sometimes it’s a bad influence but nonetheless… that’s right you guessed it, it’s an influence!

The cycle repeats itself even as we get older and become adults. As we mature we realize that, although people come and go, our identity as a person stays the same; The world calls it “Keeping It Real.” In other words, we should remain the same person at home that we are at work and at school.

What Happens When We Remain True To Who We Are?

When we put on a false persona we realize that life often times is difficult. Putting on a facade is the equivalent to living a lie and the result is that others don’t get the opportunity to truly see who we are.

When we remain true to who we are, we naturally filter out people who don’t fit in our lifestyle or mode of living.

Lets say we had a friend, John Doe, who grew up naturally introverted. He was on the rather quiet side, he was taught not to curse, he was an overall good kid; got good grades in school and didn’t get into a lot of trouble. John might have a hard time associating with Tom, who had a fowl mouth and stirred up trouble; hung out with the wrong crowd and never did his homework.

The unfortunate reality is that there are grown adults who put on fake facades just to impress others, who doesn’t share the same beliefs, lifestyle or core values.

Other people have the keen sense of ability to see through us when we are not being true to ourselves. Make a decision today to accept who you are and know that you are good enough for anybody; You don’t have to change who you are for anyone.

There are going to be people who come into your life for either a reason, a season or a lifetime. Some people just weren’t meant to be in your life for a lifetime. Regardless of your outside environment, remain true to yourself; It will pay off in the long run and reward you with great, long-lasting friendships as you go through your life journey.

Music is definitely one of the greatest gifts given to us from God. Music has the power to change our moods.

It can calm us, make us happy, make us dance and some music can even make us wild. In the book, The Secret Power of Music, by David Tame, it says “music is more than a language, it is the language of languages.

When you travel the world you’ll find that there are language barriers but one thing that all nations have in common is their ability to comprehend music. Our brain processes music differently than it processes languages. There are different styles of music but we all comprehend it the same.

Music has been used in the medical industry to treat seizures and depression. Soft music such as classical music has been shown to have a huge effect on our lives. Classical increases the release of endorphins in our body.Thirty minutes of classical music is equal to a dose of Valium.

Music also has the ability to do harm to our body. In the book, Elevator Music, by Joseph Lanza, it talks about how some types of music have the ability to cause seizures.

I was reading about an experiment that was being done where a plant was placed in a room where hard rock was playing and it withered and died. However, when classical music was played, the plant blossomed and grew faster.

Friend as you can see there is power in music. Although music is a gift to us from God, there are some types of music that is like poison to our bodies.

I’ve heard many people say that classical music is boring and the reason why they don’t listen to it is because it puts them to sleep. However, It has been proven that when such music is played over the womb of an expecting mother, it has the ability to raise the baby’s IQ.

Friend, knowing the facts on music, you now have the choice of taking music and using it to your advantage. You can choose to use it for good or use it for harm. I challenge you to think out of the box. The next opportunity you have to listen to music, make a choice to listen to something that is beneficial to your health.
