Pick up Your Bed and Walk

Posted by: | Comments (1)

For years, many have allowed handicaps to keep them from their God-given destiny. They’ve let a bad report from the doctor determine their course of life.

Maybe you’ve got a false report from a critic. Maybe someone told you, “you’re out the game of life.” A naysayer has told you, “you don’t have the abilities to achieve that based on your past.”

Maybe you’ve had an infirmity. The doctor said you were sick, you’d never be the same again. In the interim, it’s easy to get soured on life.  It’s easy to think that life as you hoped it to be is over. Your hopes are shattered. Your dreams have exited out the back door.

But you’ve got to rise above your setbacks. Don’t crumble. Don’t go to your safe place. No, you’ve got to pick up your bed and walk.

Many have allowed their handicaps to handicap them. In other words, they’ve used what the enemy meant for bad as an excuse to keep them from reaching their full potential.

Maybe you were told you’d never be active again- you’d be bed ridden. The rest of your days are over. That doesn’t mean life is over. No, you can still dream.

Get your faith back up. Don’t lie dormant. Don’t become complacent. No, you’ve got to pick up your bed and walk. In other words, overcome your handicaps. Overcome your obstacles.

Those setbacks that have held you back for years were only a figment of your imagination. The truth is you’ve been given the power by the Read More→

Let it Bounce Off

Posted by: | Comments (0)

It’s easy to get down in the dumps when you get a bad break. If you get a false report from a critic or a naysayer, don’t let it take root. Don’t let it sink in. No, you’re going to have to let it bounce off.

In life, we’ll face all kinds of ups and downs. But the best thing you can do is go forward regardless. Don’t focus on the bad apples in life. If an enemy sends negativity your way, let it bounce off.

If a hater is under the influence of “haterade” and is sending hate your way, let it bounce off. Stand bold and tall. Tell your haters, “don’t hate, congratulate”

If fear, doubt and uncertainty come knocking at the door, tell them go away. Don’t fall prey to their tactics, let them bounce off.

You see, God has given you everything you need to bounce back from set backs and disappointments. Your story ends in victory.

Don’t focus on the bad seeds of life, instead let the good ones take root. You can bounce back from a bad day. You can bounce back from a closed door, failed Read More→

Make It Bigger and Better!

Posted by: | Comments (0)

The Lord has found favor in you. He has entrusted you with talents, gifts and abilities. It’s our duty to take the gifts that the Lord has given us and put it to good use. We have to make them bigger and better.

It’s easy to listen to the voice of defeat. It’s easy to think, “I don’t have the skills.” “I wasn’t born with any talent or abilities,” but the truth is you have something deep on the inside.

When God favored you, He placed seeds of greatness into you. Now it’s up to you to take these seeds and water them and put them to work for you. Be faithful over what the Lord has given you.

Remember, to whom much is given, much is required. When God gave you the talents, He expected you to put them to work. He doesn’t want you to put the seeds in the ground and let them wither and die. No, He wants you to make it bigger and better!

If you’re going to come into your God-given destiny, you’re going to have to take time and further your talents. In doing so, you’ll earn a return off your investment. Invest more time into your abilities. Invest in education. Invest in practicing and furthering your skills.

For instance, if you have a passion for the Arts- be it music, performance, dance or entertainment, don’t settle for mediocrity. Don’t settle with a just get by Read More→

The scripture says that the Lord is a rewarder of those who diligently seek after Him. Too often, we’re looking for a quick fix. We seek after the wrong things. We’re looking around at our circumstances and problems.

We’ll ask others for advice before we seek the Lord. We’ll even go as far as to lean on our own understanding before seeking God.

But you have to know that the Lord has all the answers. He’s the solution to every question or problem that you can ever have.

When you seek the Lord, you’ll find clarity, direction and reassurance. Good things happen when you seek the Lord. Psalm 34:10 says, “the lions may Read More→

Take Captive Every Thought

Posted by: | Comments (1)

We experience many thoughts on a daily basis. Where many go wrong is they make the mistake of entertaining the wrong thoughts.

Every thought that enters your mind is not yours to entertain. 2 Corinthians 10:5 admonishes us to cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

When a thought enters your mind and it conflicts with what the word of God says, take it into captivity. Bring it into the obedience of Christ.

Maybe you want to break a bad addition, but your thoughts are, “I’ve been doing this for years, it’s become a part of my life. I can’t stop now.” Well realize that this Read More→

When You’re Down to Nothing…

Posted by: | Comments (1)

When it seems like you’re on your last string, know that God is behind the scenes working. You may not know what He’s preparing for you. You may not know His plans. You may not know the details– the how, the when, the where and the who, but just know that God is up to something.

He has the master plan in place. Get your hopes up. Get your faith up. Get your joy back. Your struggles, trials and disappointments all work out for your good and in due time you will come into your harvest.

It’s easy to get bitter, soured on life and discouraged. It’s easy to look at the circumstances surrounding you. But know that our God remembers us in our low estate.

A wise person once said, “when you’re down to nothing, God is up to something.” Don’t focus on the sorrows, look forward to the joys of tomorrow. Don’t look at Read More→

In the natural, the more we’re exposed to something the more it depreciates. It has less value. We appreciate it less.

On the contrary, the less we get of something the more value it has. It’s human nature. We want what we can’t have and when we get it, we want more of it.

Here’s another way of putting it. We grow an immunity to the things that come easy. In the spiritual, that’s how we are with the blessings of God.

Day in and day out, we pray for more. We exercise faith. But once we get more blessings, favor and opportunities the more we become immune to them- so to speak. The blessings have less value. They depreciate over time.

Don’t grow immune to the blessings of God. Give thanks and make a big deal out of every little blessing God gives you.

When you wake up in the morning, be thankful for the little things. Tell God, “Thank you for a roof over my head.” Be thankful that you’re healthy, whole and in good peace.

The scripture says when you’re faithful over the few things, the Lord will make you ruler over many things. Part of being faithful is being grateful. Be grateful for the little things and the Lord will grant you better blessings.

Don’t let the blessings of God depreciate in value. No, continue to develop an appreciation for the great things God has bestowed upon you. When you do so, God will shower down more blessings and favor as you charge forth on your journey of life!

When Life Gives You Rocky Roads…

Posted by: | Comments (1)

Not every pathway in life is going to be a smooth one. Sometimes you’re going to face some crooked places.

In the roadways of life you’re going to face a few potholes, speed bumps, detours and uneven lanes. But if you’ll press through the setbacks, challenges and obstacles, you’ll come into the victory that God has for you!

Life is full of rocky roads. You may come into some valleys and rough places along the way. You may stumble along some road work and constructions sites. But don’t throw in the towel. It’s easy to get impatient, disappointed and lose hope when things don’t go your way. But we serve a God who makes the rough places plain. He makes the crooked places straight.

There is no road too rocky that our God can’t smooth it out. You may be tempted to lose joy and get doubtful. But don’t lose faith, your setbacks are only meant Read More→
