Preach Always, Use Words Only when Necessary
Posted by: | Comments
Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. – 1 John 3:18
God’s Word commands us to be doers of the Word, and not hearers only. It’s not enough to just read and meditate on the Word of God. Instead, we must obey it through our actions.
Just like a minister at church on Sunday morning, we’re all preaching a lifelong sermon. Whether it’s a positive message or a negative one, you’re preaching a message.
It’s up to us to lead by example. God doesn’t want us to live by the “do what I say and not what I do” creed. No, He wants us to set a positive example. He wants us to show love. He wants us to be the light of the World.
You have more influence than you know. So make a decision to set a positive example through your actions.
Sure, our words do have power. You can talk someone in or out of doing something. But in the long term they’re going to look at your actions.
A wise person once said, “preach always and use words only Read More→
No Need to Carry a Bag, Just Go!

“… No bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.” – Matthew 10:10
Before you we’re formed in the womb, God knew you and set you apart. He’s had great plans for you since the beginning.
He’s given you everything you need to fulfill the mission that He’s called you to do. So when you go forth on the mission that He has destined for you, leave the baggage behind.
No need to pack a bag. Don’t worry about the necessities. No, God will supply all your needs along the way. Just go forth on the divine assignment He has for you.
Don’t bring the unnecessary baggage from your past into the next season of your life. No, leave the past in the past. Wipe the slate clean and start anew on the journey ahead.
Too often, we try to take matters into our own hands. We try to figure out what we think we need for the journey. And consequently, all that ends up doing is Read More→
Pictures Develop in the Dark

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds. – James 1:2
God never promised us that everyday would be sunshine. At some point in time, we’ll have to face some dark days. But in order for us to grow, we have to overcome these trials and hardships.
You see, it’s the challenging times that cause us to become all that God would have us to be. This is when we develop our strength and character.
But don’t be dismayed. Don’t get in despair. No, just like the scripture says, count it all joy when you face trials. These trials only serve for an appointed time. When dark days come, God doesn’t want us to rely on our own strength. He wants us to Read More→
Start the New Year off on a Good Foot

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. – 1 Corinthians 10:31
God wants nothing but the best for you in this new season of your life. He’s given you everything that you need to go forward in excellence!
So remember to put your best foot forward in everything you do. And do it all for the glory of God. With anything in life, whether it’s a new year, new career, or a new resolution, the way you start will determine the course of it. If you start off lackadaisical and half-hearted that’s the kind of outcome you’ll get.
We serve a God who gives us His best, so try to give Him your best. If there’s something that you did in the past with a lack of zeal and passion, try to give it your all. Maybe you’ve failed at a prior commitment, don’t wallow in despair. Know that God has granted you another opportunity to charge forth.
So take this opportunity to put your best foot forward. You can start Read More→
Your Best Days are Ahead of You!

The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says the Lord of hosts. – Haggai 2:9
As you embark into a New Year, God wants you to look forward with hope and expectation. This is a chance for you to wipe the slate clean and leap forward with God’s great joy.
No matter what your past may have been, God already has your future planned. Your best days are ahead of you!
God’s Word says that your latter days will be greater than your former days. Not only that, but God promises in the scripture that there will be peace in the days ahead.
God doesn’t want you to go into a new year looking behind you. He doesn’t want you to compare the now with what has been in the past. He doesn’t want you Read More→
God’s Grace is Sufficient

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”… 2 Corinthians 12:9
The Bible refers to the Lord’s grace as the unmerited favor of God. The good news for us, is that God honors us even when we don’t deserve it.
I love how in the scripture, God says, “My grace is sufficient for you…” Think about that word sufficient. What does it mean to you?
The word sufficient means, “enough to meet a need or purpose; adequate.” God’s grace is just enough to meet your need. He never runs out of grace. His grace doesn’t barely meet our needs. God’s unmerited favor isn’t here today and gone tomorrow. No, God’s word says His grace is sufficient for you.
That means you’ll never be without. You’ll never be in lack. You’ll never have to want for anything. When you’re running on empty, running on fumes, God refills your tank with His grace, mercy, honor, and favor.
It doesn’t matter who you are. Whatever your background, creed or history, God’s mercies and compassions are new everyday. He doesn’t base this sufficient grace on your past or where you’ve come from. No, His grace for you is Read More→
Be Confident in who God Created You to Be!

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. – Psalm 139:14
God made no mistakes when He created you. Every personality trait, every feature – every setback, imperfection, talent, and gift that you have was destined and purposed by the almighty God. He was intentional when He created you.
Many times, we find ourselves trying to change the very person God intended for us to be. What you think is a setback, is really what God designed to set you apart. That feature that you want to change is what makes you unique.
You may look in the mirror and see a characteristic that you want to change, but someone else is looking at you and wishing they had that trait. You may see all your downfalls, but someone else sees your potential. You may see your failures, but Read More→
Look for the Showers of Blessings!

I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. – Ezekiel 34:26
Whether you know it or not, God is blessing you every minute of the day. Every breath that you take is a blessing from the almighty God.
From the moment you wake up to the time you lay down to rest, God’s mercies are endless. Everyday that you come and go, God is showering down blessings in your favor.
When you wake up in the morning, instead of looking at what seems to be a curse, look for the showers of blessings from the most High God. Live in expectation that something good is going to happen to you today. Take out some time and meditate on the mighty works that God has already performed on your behalf.
Look at the victories you’ve won. Look at the successes. Thank God for all your accomplishments. Focus your attention on the doors of opportunity that have been granted to you. Maybe there was a time when you didn’t see a way, but Read More→
God Comforts the Discomforted

Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. – Isaiah 40:1
We serve a mighty God who comforts us in times of distress. When we venture out into unknown territories, those areas where we’re discontented, God reaches down and brings the comfort we need. He is the God of all comfort.
Often times, we hesitate going out of our comfort zone. But know that wherever you are, no matter how far out of your comfort zone you find yourself, God will bring a sense of ease and contentment.
You see, God wants you to feel whole and comforted, not only in the easy times, but in the times of pressure. He doesn’t want you to go around stressed, troubled, living a life of uneasiness. No, He wants you to look to Him and find peace in times of sorrows.
When you’re faced with difficulties and hard challenges, take a moment and Read More→
