The Great Exchange

We serve a God who loves us for better or for worse. He loves us in sickness and in health. And the good news is nothing can separate us from His love.
When you come into Christ, a great exchange takes place. You trade your disappointments for His divine appointments. You trade your doubts for His blessed assurance. You trade your sorrows for the joy of the Lord.
It’s like a couple who gets married. It’s no longer yours or mine… it becomes ours. In marriage, you take on the benefits of each other. In most cases, she takes his last name. Her family becomes his family. His home becomes her home. And her belongings become his belongings.
In the same way, when you come into Christ you take on his benefits. He changes your name. He takes your mess and gives you a message. No longer are you defeated, no, your name becomes victory. You enter into the royal family and you become a child of the most High God!

Have A Right Now Faith!

“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” – James 2:17
Our God is moved when we take leaps of faith. All it takes is mustard seed faith and we can move mountains.
But too often, we find ourselves looking for the end result in the beginning. Day after day we’re making the wrong declarations. Declarations such as: “I’ll give more to charity once my finances get in order.” “I’ll wash my car, when God provides me with a brand new one.” “I’ll lose weight and get in shape once the vacation to the beach is booked.”
But you need to know that the Lord is looking for you to have a right now faith. That means you have to put your faith out there regardless of the conditions around you.
Remember, without faith it’s impossible to please the Lord. One of the reasons you’re not getting your breakthrough is because you’re not exercising your faith. In order for you to come into your season of abundance and increase, you must sow some seeds of faith.

What Will You Say of the LORD?

“I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” – Psalm 91:2
The Psalmist made many declarations of the LORD throughout the Psalms. Many were positive and praiseworthy declarations to the LORD, even in times of trouble.
The truth is, God inhabits the praises of His people. When you speak praises of His name in times of crisis, the LORD rewards that and crowns you with blessings, favor and honor.
Too often, when we get soured on life, we’re tempted to make negative declarations of the LORD. We think that God has forgotten us. We think God has left us in the pits of despair. Some even complain and curse the name of the LORD.
But just like the Psalmist, you should make praiseworthy declarations over your situation. When the tough gets going, let your declaration be, “Lord you are my refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble.”
When you experience doubt, fear and uncertainty, affirm that the LORD is ever faithful. Speak life, joy, hope, peace and victory into your circumstance. Regardless of the way things seem around you, your report should be, “I’m blessed Read More→
He’s the Lifter of Our Heads!

There is no situation that our God can’t turn around for the greater good. There is no pit too deep that the LORD can’t raise you out of.
We all face our dark days. We all experience doom and gloom. But know today that we serve a God who is the lifter of our heads.
God has the ability to bring joy in the times of sorrow. When you have a hung down head, our God goes to work behind the scenes to comfort you and meet you at the point of your need.
Remember, when you’re at your weakest that’s when God is at His strongest in you. When you don’t see a way, God has a way.
I love how the Psalmist says it. He says, “The LORD is near to to the brokenhearted and He saves the crushed in spirit.” If you have a broken heart, our God is a faithful God. He’s the mender of broken hearts!
God’s Word has the awesome ability to speak life, victory and encouragement into your circumstance. Our almighty God is sufficient and He can provide the

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” – Galatians 6:7
Every decision you make, is a seed you’re planting in the ground. You’re either planting good seeds or bad seeds. Even the thoughts that you choose to entertain, are seeds that you’re sowing.
When you wake up in the morning with a heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving, you’re planting a good seed for the entire day. You’re showing the almighty God that despite of the way things seems, you’re grateful for the few things. When you’re grateful for the little things, God will inturn reward you and make you ruler over many things.
When you choose to entertain thoughts that are virtuous, honorable and of a good report, you’re planting a seed for peace, wholeness and joy. On the contrary, when you choose to meditate on things that are depressing, downcast and solemn, you’re planting dark seeds. You’re putting seeds of doom and gloom into the ground.

You’re Refined Through Opposition!

“I have refined you, but not as silver is refined, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering.” – Isaiah 48:10
We all face opposition, setbacks and difficult challenges. And in the interim, it’s easy to think that God has deserted you. You may be tempted to think God has forgotten about you. But that’s far from the truth.
God uses your tests and trials for your greater good. He can use the storms of life to refine you.
The word refine simply means to reduce to a pure state. To remove all impurities. It means, fine- delicate- elegant and polished.
It’s interesting, silver and gold is put through the fire to be reduced to it’s pure state. The less impurities they have the more valuable they are. In the same way, God is putting you through the fire to refine you.
Notice, today’s scripture doesn’t say, “I have refined you through the physical fire.” No, it says you’re being refined through the furnace of suffering. He’s putting Read More→
Stir Up the Gifts Inside of You!

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” – 2 Timothy 1:6
Every person has been blessed with gifts down deep on the inside. Whether you know it or not, God has granted you with special treasures that no other person has.
You have talents and abilities that will take you further than you can ever imagine. I encourage you to take these gifts and put them to work for you. Don’t let them lye dormant. No, fan the flame. Stir up the gifts that are inside of you.
I grew up as a musician. I been playing drums since I was nine years old. And if you heard me play, you might think that I was naturally born with the gift. You may think that I came out of the womb making music.
But there are other gifts that took years for me to discover. My talent for playing drums was discovered when I was nine. But it wasn’t until I was much older, that I discovered my ability to encourage and motivate. Along the same lines, I discovered that I had a special skill for writing as well.

God wants us to live a life full of peace, wholeness and abundance. And in order to do so, we have to meditate on things that are life giving. He doesn’t want us to worry about things that are out of our control. He wants us to meditate on things that are excellent and praiseworthy.
You have been blessed with the gift of life. Sure it’s full of ups and downs. Yes, it’s easy to focus on your problems, fears and doubts. But God’s Word commands us to think about things that are pure, true, noble– things that are of a good report.

Have you ever experienced a here today, gone tomorrow type of relationship? Maybe you’ve encountered some failed promises and misunderstandings along the way. Well, the good thing about our God is He’s forever the same. His love towards us never changes.
People may come and go. They may disappoint you, hurt you, upset you, or turn their backs on you. But the good news is, Jesus is unchangeable. His love is unending. Unlike man, He doesn’t compromise His character based on circumstances. He’s not fickle. No He is a steadfast God.
His Word says that His love never fails. God’s love is not based on circumstances. It’s not based on your past or what you can do for him. No, His love is unconditional and it’s forever the same.

Your Enemies Will Promote You to Your Destiny

“The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.” – Deuteronomy 28:7
Throughout the course of life, God will allow opposition. You’ll not only come across those who will befriend you, but you’ll also discover haters along the way. But know that you are equipped with the armor of the almighty God to stand firm against your enemies.
From time to time, you’ll run into critics and naysayers. They may tell you that, you don’t have what it takes. They may point out your faults, failures and mistakes. But know that you can rise above your haters. You can overcome your critics.
Even when it seems like you’re losing the battle, know that in the end you’re going to come out stronger, wiser and better off than you were before. Know that with God, you’re a victor and not a victim. And in the end, you will win the war.
Your enemies are only stepping stones to bring you into the destiny God has for you. But know that you have the power of the Most High God, the creator of the universe, backing you up. And He says that you’re well able. You’re more than a conqueror. Just like the scripture says, the LORD will cause your enemies to be defeated before your face.
So don’t fear your enemies. No, God wants you to stand bold and courageous. You have everything you need to overcome them. Don’t let your haters become a threat to you, become a threat to your haters.
Here’s the thing, every hero has a villain. Every David has a Goliath. Every Batman has a Joker. Every happy-ever-after has a sad story. Every victory has had some defeats. You’ll never get to the next level until you face your enemies. You can’t stand in victory until you’ve stood the opposition along the way.
Your enemies were strategically placed in your path not to defeat you, but to promote you. Don’t run from them. Do like David did and run towards your Goliath!
