In life, we may catch ourselves saying things like, “if I can just get this day over with,” or “I can’t wait until vacation gets here.” And it’s good to live with expectation, but in the process of trying to get from “A” to “Z”, don’t forget about all the other alphabets in between.
You may say, “if only I can get this in order, I’ll be just fine.” “If only I can catch that business lead, it will be alright.” “If only I can get my child to behave then I can be happy.” Well take it all in stride. Don’t miss out on the beauty of everyday life counting the “if only’s”.
God doesn’t want you to just exist, He wants you to thrive. He wants you to enjoy where you’re at on the way to where you’re going.
You may not be where you want to be. The circumstances may not be in your favor but if you’re not careful you’ll miss out on the everyday blessings of life. Enjoy the process of going from “A” to “Z”. Enjoy the days leading up to the vacation. If you’re not careful, you’ll miss out on the memories of your child growing up.
Have you heard the saying that says, “give them their flowers while they yet live?” Well everyday life is offering you flowers. Will you enjoy the flowers while you yet live? Will you take some time out to stop and smell the roses? To count your blessings? To be thankful?
Life will be so much more rewarding when you learn to enjoy where you’re at on the way to where you’re going. It won’t always be easy; sometimes it will be an unfair challenge. But the journey is also filled with good times.
So learn to enjoy the journey. Enjoy the blessings and favor that’s raining down from heaven. When you show God that you can enjoy where you’re at in life and you learn to be faithful over the few things, God will make you ruler over many things and bring you into a season of harvest as you charge forth on your journey of life!
