It’s easy to get excited about the end result, and lose sight of the present. And, yes, it’s good to have a vision and a purpose. But don’t forget to enjoy where you’re at on the way to where you’re going.
When you live life only with the end result in mind, you miss out on the precious moments of life. The little things in life pass you by. But God wants you to live an abundant life. And part of that abundant life, is joyfully embracing the present.
Enjoy every waking moment of the day. Take time out for your relationships. Do things to better your health. Develop a hobby. Take a stroll in the park. Take pleasure in the simple things of life.
Appreciate the struggles. They are here to make you stronger. There is a lesson to be learned even in the dark times. There are blessings in the rainy days. Not every day is going to be sunshine. Some of the greatest lessons come in the storms of life.
Maybe you’ve come across some cloudy days. Maybe you’ve met some hurdles along the way, and you’re tempted to get in despair. You’re tempted to get downcast and lose all hope. Maybe the ocean waters of life are raging. Well, here’s encouragement for you- Swim. This is your opportunity to strengthen life’s “swim stroke.”
Jump the hurdles as if they’re not there. If life gives you rainy days, bring an umbrella and smile anyway. If life throws you a curve ball, take a swing. Enjoy every moment, the good and the bad. When you do so, you’ll experience more of the abundant life God has for you as you charge forth on your journey of life!
