“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

The Bible tells us that God is no respecter of persons. He values everyone: the young, old, rich, poor, man and woman. Every race and creed, He loves us all just the same.

God has a heart for us one and all. He doesn’t bless one and not the other. No, The Lord wants to see us all live a good, fulfilling life. But He also wants us to turn around and do good towards others.

Many have a tendency to do good to those in their close circle of friends. Others tend to get selective and show love towards a particular kind. But when we operate in the true love of Christ, we do good toward all people.

Don’t favor one over the other. Don’t be selective and picky when it comes to showing favoritism. No, have an unconditional love toward all people.

Remember, when you do good deeds for others, you’re sowing a seed. The Golden Rule says to treat others the way you want to be treated. When you sow a seed of love, time, and attention, you’ll reap more of the same.

The scripture says in Acts 10:38 that “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and he went around doing good…” Well, in the same way look for ways to simply “do good” toward others.

What I like about today’s scripture is that in the tenth verse it goes on to say, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people…”

Here’s the key, every opportunity you get, do good. The opportunities are all around you, you’ll have seize them.

When you see someone who needs a helping hand, exercise that opportunity to do a good deed. When you approach a doorway in a public place, kindly hold the door open for someone. When you get on the elevator or pass someone in a hallway, smile and greet them with a welcome, open and warm expression.

Friend, don’t grow weary in doing good. Continue to sow good seeds. When you do so, you’ll reap a harvest of blessings as you charge forth on your journey of life!

  1. Michael Snow says:

This was very fitting as I read Deut. 10 this morning:

The LORD defends the rights of orphans and widows. He cares for foreigners and gives them food and clothing. 19And you should also care for them, because you were foreigners in Egypt.

Hello Michael, thanks for sharing that scripture. That’s a great verse to go along with this post!
