Think About What You’re Thinking About
Think About What You’re Thinking About
By
Too often, we think about things that aren’t uplifting and encouraging. We focus on the things that we can’t do rather than dwelling on the things we can do.
Many will look at what others are doing, their accomplishments, and what they have going for them. In the interim, they’ll discount what they have going for themselves.
But it’s not God’s will for us to go around with a negative, defeated and less-than mindset. No, God’s Word says we’re overcomers! We’re more than a conqueror. We can do all things through Christ which strengthens us. God wants us to think on things that are virtuous, noble, and true. Things that are of a good report and worthy of praise.
If someone played a recording back of the things that you thought about, you would probably be embarrassed and feel ashamed. You would probably be tempted to think, surely I don’t think those thoughts. But if you only knew the negative thinking that happens day in and day out, you would understand why you never accomplished that achievement. You would know why you were unable to overcome that bad habit. You’d know why you had unfulfilled visions and broken dreams.
Know today, you can make a brand new start. Think about what you’re thinking about. Be conscious of any negative thoughts that you have.
When that voice of defeat comes in and says, “you can’t do this… you don’t have the talents or credentials.” Cancel it out by saying, “I’m more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.” If all you can think about is the bad breaks, closed doors or failed opportunities, chime in by saying, “this closed door is a blessing in disguise. It simply means I’m growing closer and closer toward my God-given destiny.”
If you’re tempted to think that you’re at a loss or you have a major disadvantage, shake it off. Let go of the stinkin’ thinkin’. Dig your heels in. Stand tall, put your shoulders back and boldly declare, “I’m an overcomer, I have an advantage. I’m on the winning side!”
Made a choice today to change your thinking habits. Think about what you’re thinking about. Change the playback of your mental recording to a more positive, encouraging and uplifting tune. When you do so, you’ll began to clearly see the seeds of greatness that God has sown on the inside as you charge forth on your journey of life!
