Your Prayer Does Matter
Your Prayer Does Matter
By
“…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” – James 5:16
When God called you into His kingdom, He crowned you with righteousness. He took all your mess and put it as far as the east is from the west. Then He justified you, and put you in right standings with Him.
But for some, the past becomes a hindrance to their prayer walk. They believe that they’re unworthy, unqualified and unequipped to pray to the Father. Know today that prayer is not a skill. It’s not something that has to be perfected. There is no intimidation factor to prayer.
God is not looking for big words and eloquent statements. He’s not looking for the most powerful or catchy passage of scripture. No, He’s looking for a sincere believing heart. The scripture says, “when you ask, you must believe and not doubt…”
The good news, is that God is just a prayer away. His prayer line is open 24/7. Your prayer does matter. When you pray to the Father, it’s just like having a conversation with your best friend. You can confide in Him. You can go to Him about your biggest darkest secrets. And you can ask Him for anything.
You don’t have to have a degree. God is not looking for a certification prayer plaque on the wall that has your name on it. No, you can go to the Lord in prayer. And not only that, but He hears your prayers. He hears your faintest cry, and He will answer.
Pray with a passion and zeal
What I find interesting about today’s verse is one particular word, the word fervent. Fervent means: showing great emotion or zeal. It means displaying a passionate intensity. When you pray to the Lord, approach Him fervently, with passion, zeal, and a bold confidence.
When you’re driving down the street, you can pray. Before the big exam in class, you can pray. When you put good seed in the ground, water it with a prayer. Before that business presentation, say a silent prayer. The Lord will hear and move on your behalf.
Maybe you’ve prayed in the past, and you’re tempted to think that your prayer is of no good use. Know today that, that’s far from the truth. God answers prayer in His time. He’s never late, He’s never early, but He’s right on time.
Remember, your prayer may be delayed but never denied. So say a prayer. A great songwriter once said: “have a talk with Jesus… tell Him all about your troubles.” So do just that, friend. Have a good talk with Jesus. When you do so, you’ll come into fulfilled blessings and manifestations as you charge forth on your journey of life!
