Isn’t it great to know that we serve a God who can be everything we need Him to be? No matter what your need is in life, God can supply all your needs.
Whether you are in trouble or you have a specific need, He comes to your aid just in time. Maybe you’re lacking moral support. He fills in the gap and meets your need in every area of your life.
I love how Psalm 46:1 says, “He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble.” Notice how the scripture says He’s a very present help. It doesn’t say He’s a past-time help. It doesn’t say He’s help to come in the future. No, it describes Him as a very present help.
That means He’s an on-time God. I heard someone say, “He may not come when you want Him, but He’s right on time.” Someone else said, “He steps in right in the nick of time!”
One interesting thing I found about the scripture is that the word “help” is a very general term. In other words, it doesn’t limit God to just one profession. No, it means He can be anything you need Him to be.
Throughout the scriptures, He’s described as many things. One scripture describes Him as a father to the fatherless. He can be a friend who sticks closer than a brother. The Psalmist even goes as far as to say, “when my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me in.” I’ve heard him described as a doctor in a sick room and a lawyer in a courtroom. He’s a mender to the brokenhearted. Anything you need, He can be that and much more!
I can remember times when I was younger and I needed help with homework. Sometimes my parents or friends knew the answers and sometimes they didn’t. It was those times that I needed the guidance of a school teacher or a tutor.
But The God we serve is always with us and He will never leave us or forsake us. If you don’t know the answers to a problem, He’s a very present help. If you don’t know whether to go to the left or the right, He’s a very present help. If you’ve got costly decisions to make, He’s a very present help.
Be encouraged today and know that He can be whatever you need Him to be. And watch as He directs your path as you charge forth on your journey of life!
