Romans 12:2 says “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Every since we were children we’ve allowed external circumstances to influence our spiritual being. For instance if someone called you a bad name and you weren’t confident enough or had enough sense to know better than to fall for it, then you would easily conform to that. As a result that could lower your self confidence and ruin your self-image.
If you were raised in an abusive household then naturally you might take on a destructive pattern of life.
It’s amazing how you can tell the lifestyle a person leads by their actions. If someone is rooted and grounded in the Word of God, their lifestyle will reflect that. If someone speaks positive words over their life and expects greatness then that will be reflected as well. On the contrary, if they’re strung out on drugs or leading a life of destruction then that becomes apparent also.
But it’s important for you to know that no matter what lifestyle you led in the past you can be tranformed. That negative thought pattern that you led can be Read More→
Stress is like our body’s way of telling us that we need rest. Throughout the hustle and bustle of the day, we find ourselves looking for ways to wind down.
Some people seek bigger ways to quote on quote “get away.” They look toward vacations as a get away. They look for weekend retreats that provide a sense of peace and tranquility.
Others can settle for smaller ways to wind down. Depending on how much rest and relaxation they’re in need of, they can simply settle for an extra day off – or maybe a few extra hours of sleep. In the end we find ourselves more than willing to spend extra cash to vacation when rest is at our finger tips.
Matthew 11:28, Jesus says “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”
My friend the good news is that you can find rest in Jesus. You see, He’s just a conversation away. You don’t have to pick up the phone and dial out. You don’t have to take a drive down to the beach or across country. You don’t have to fork up that extra vacation cash just to enjoy His service. No, He’s Read More→Share
Too often, I hear the phrase “what’s wrong?” When we see others who look like they’re down or depressed, we have natural inkling to asked them “what’s wrong?”
Think about those times when you’ve come across a friend who looked like they were disgusted over something, can you remember asking them “what’s wrong?”
We learned earlier on in life to pinpoint our friend’s problems and take on their burdens as our own.
I am all for being there in a time of need. But what about those times when things are going right in our lives? Do we celebrate those times?
Do we take time out to hear an encouraging praise report or spread the good news? I believe that we should take more time out to celebrate the good times.
When you see your friends in the morning instead of asking “what’s wrong?” ask them “what’s right in your life?” Ask them about the blessings and the Read More→Share
Many times we have a tendency to look at others around us and compare ourselves to them. We have a tendency to see the good in others but we forget what’s special and unique about ourselves.
But know today that God made you just as you are on purpose. You see, the scripture says that before you were born God knew you.
You have to know that you are different. You have been given a gift that is special in God’s eyes. God made no mistake when He formed you in the womb. You have a unique gift that is special to the world.
)You will be surprised that when you’re looking at the gifts others have, they are looking right back at you and admiring your talents and abilities.
You don’t have to feel inferior. No, be encouraged today and know that just as the scripture says, you are above and not beneath. You are the head and not the tail. You can walk tall and know that God has given you something that no other has.
Just remember, as you go along your journey, that you are a new creation. God is always doing a new work in your life. You’re constantly evolving. You are constantly Read More→Share
As you charge forth on your journey of life remember to have a nature a gratitude. Thankfulness and appreciation can go along way.
I’ll never forget coming up in the church. And when the minister prayed the prayer, He always began with the words “…before we ask you for anything we want to thank you for everything.”
Those words stuck with me even until this day. I could hear the minister saying the phrase like it was yesterday. Not just because they were fancy – Not just because they had a rhyme or a catchy nature, but because every time he prayed the prayer, it was being further implanted in my mind.
You see, the more I heard those words the more deep-seated they became. When you wake up in the morning, make an effort to be thankful for that which has been given to you. When you see a friend, tell Read More→Share
Everyone has a gift that has been placed on the inside of them. Whether you have the gift of service, the gift of arts, or an exceptional gift of communication, know that it’s a gift from God above.
I encourage you to take that which you love and use it to your benefit today. Know that God wants to see you excel in the talents and treasures that He’s given you.
I challenge you today, to seek ways to make your gift work for you. If you have the gift of communication, seek out opportunities to further your ability. You may find joy in teaching a class or doing a speaking engagement on a topic of your passion.
If your passion is sports, you may want to seek out local venues that will allow you to be seen in your best light.
Whatever your gift is I encourage you to further it. Don’t allow it to Read More→Share
So often, we unintentionally start our day off on the wrong foot. Deep on a subconscious level we may curse our day by speaking words that cause a negative ripple effect.
First thing in the morning we may regret a certain event that is ahead of us that day like work or school. Maybe it’s a meeting at work that you’re not looking forward to or a presentation at school that you’re nervous about.
When you speak negative words against these things all you’re doing is bringing on more torture. Instead of making matters worse, try bringing positive words into play. Try doing positive things to start your day off on the right foot.
Do things that will bring about a positive ripple effect like waking up with a spirit of gratitude. Simply say, “I know I have a challenging day ahead Lord but I know you will give me the strength to withstand it” – or you might want to say, “I may be tired physically Lord but I know you’ll supply me with the strength and stamina to push through what seems to be a trying day ahead.”
Remember, prayer changes things. Try starting your morning off with a simple prayer that will boost your spirits.
In addition to prayer, you may want to look into doing other things that Read More→Share
A wise man once said, “When you were born you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way that when you die the world cries and you rejoice!”
Are you living in a way that others look to you as a source of joy and inspiration? I believe that we should all aspire to be a light in the world.
So often, were going around upset and disgusted. We’re allowing the world to be a negative effect on us. And sadly for some people, they’re being a negative influence on the world.
I always say that for someone, you might be the only Jesus they’ll ever see. Just like the quote says, make a decision to live your life in such a way that when you die the world cries. Leave a legacy that will change the world for years and years even when you’re gone.

The last few days I had a series of events that really tested my faith walk. In the interim, I was tempted to get down and discouraged.
It seemed like one thing after another thing presented itself. But through it all I remembered that even though I couldn’t see the purpose of every little difficulty, I knew God was working it out for my good.
Today I was on my way home and I looked over the hill and there was a rainbow. I thought man I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a rainbow.
Then I got to thinking about all the trials I’ve faced over the last few days and how it seemed to be on the up and up. Then I thought, that rainbow is a sign that I’m nearing the end of my storm.
.To me it was significant of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It was God’s way of showing me that after the storm the rainbow will form.
You have to remember that no matter how terrible your storm, there’s a rainbow waiting to manifest itself. Sometimes you may not always physically see it. But know that God’s not only waiting to show you your rainbow, He wants to give you double for your trouble.
He wants to take it a step further. He’s going to lead you not only to Read More→Share
There are those times in life when challenges arise. Instead of wallowing in despair and stressing over the situation, make a point to look at the bright side of it.
There will come a time at the end of the trial when you’ll look back and be thankful. You will know that the whole time God was working everything out in your favor. You might even look back and laugh. You will look back and see how everything that was meant for bad turned out to be for your good.
So remember, when you’re faced with adversity and you’re fortunate to get a breakthrough, be sure to spread the good news. Let your test become your testimony.
Who knows, your story may impact someone else to brave the storm. Your story may be an inspiration to someone whose going through. They will know that in Read More→Share
