Whose Report Will You Believe?
Whose Report Will You Believe?
ByI talk a lot about setting standards and accomplishing goals. Often times in the interim of accomplishing goals, we find that it’s hard to tune out the voice of the nay-sayers.
When you’re challenged with difficulties in life that’s when it’s hardest to stay focused and tune out those who said you’ll never make it. You’ll find that others will point out every little thing that you have going against you. They may say, “Oh you’ll never make it, you haven’t got the credentials…” — or they may say, “why you can’t win this race look at all those people ahead of you, you’re not even a shoo-in.“
Whether you’ve heard those exact words or some other form of negativity being spoken over you, know that you’re not alone. We’ve all had others attempt to speak into our lives and kill our dreams.
The question is whose report will you believe — will you listen to the reports of the critics? Have you fallen victim to the words of the nay-sayers?

My friend, I want to challenge you to tune out anything that is not catapulting you toward your destiny. Just like the dial on a radio, you need to weed through the stations until you find that station of inspiration. Search for that station of encouragement. Don’t tune into the frequency of defeat or the frequency that says you’ll never make it, tune into that frequency that affirms that you are victor not a victim!
Just like Moses, don’t allow your handicaps to keep you from achieving greatness in life. Moses said he had a handicapped tongue. He said he was slow to speak. But that wasn’t the report of the Lord. Little did Moses know, God had greater things in store for for him. Despite his quote on quote “inability” to speak effectively, God had his destiny all mapped out. It was the report of the Lord that Moses would free the children of Israel from bondage.
Know that greater things are in store for you today! You can rise to a new dimension in life regardless of the defeated report that others have given you. The report of the Lord declares that you are more than a conqueror. Don’t allow the negative words of the nay-sayers to cloud your thinking, excel into a greater level of thinking today as you charge forth in your journey of life!

Hey Jarrod, I like the point that you brought out here. In our lives, there are going to be people who attempt to take down our dreams. I have this done to me many times before and I realized that you just can’t give in. You can always acknowledge what they say out of respect, but that should be as far as it should go. I also like how you say that we need to “search for the station of encouragement” when there can be so much “noise” out there. Thanks for this post Jarrod. I appreciated you coming and listening to my interview today. It’s crazy that you’ve played 18 years of drums in your life!
Hi Hulbert,
Glad you stopped by! Thanks for your words of encouragement! Your interview was very inspiring! Yes, I have been playing drums for 18 years and still going strong! Nothing is stopping me now!
Hello fellow musician
You bring up an important point about believing the naysayers report. If we’re not careful to tune into an ‘encouraging station’ we run the risk of internalizing the negative energy — adding to our challenges. It’s important to surround ourselves with supportive and encouraging friends as we take on goals and tasks — whatever we would like to accomplish.
We “know that greater things are in store for us today” when we can assimilate it within.
Thank you for another wonderful post!
