Are You In It To Win It?

Are You In It To Win It?

By

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: – 2 Timothy 4:7

Are you in it to win it? Are you staying your course? Or are you going about your goal saying, “well… I’ll see how I do. I’ll see if this is really for me”?

Sometimes we have a tendency to start something with the ‘I’ll see if I can make it’ mind-set. This mind-set means that we’re just going with the flow. It means we allow the circumstances of our goal to take charge of us. We operate on the ‘if it’s meant to be it’ll be’ mind-set.

The only problem with this is that, when any sign of pressure comes our way, we run the other way. When obstacles present themselves we don’t fight back, we immediately come to the conclusion that the goal isn’t meant for us. You must understand that obstacles will always be present.

For instance, if you’re trying to lose weight and get fit, you will have those days where you just don’t feel like exercising. Let’s say your goal is to run the mile in 5 minutes, at some point in time, you will experience fatigue.

When you face these obstacles it doesn’t mean that exercise isn’t for you, or that you should just give up trying to run the mile in 5 minutes. No, the obstacles are there to make you stronger. With out roadblocks, you may not learn to appreciate the hard work that you put in to achieve the end result. We have a tendency to appreciate the things that we have to work hard for.

Your attitude should be, “I’m in it to win it.” You should say, “I’m going to keep at it until victory is won.”

You see, you’re already a victor- you’ve been already declared a winner. You must realize it’s only a matter of time before you march into your victory. You have to claim it before hand.

There’s a great saying that nothing comes easy. They say you have to work hard to get what you want in life. I encourage you to stay focused on your course. Develop an ‘I’m in it to win it’ attitude.

If you give in too soon, you will miss out on your blessing. Don’t give up at the first sign of resistance. Press on throughout the challenge until you reach victory. Develop the attitude that you’re in it to win it, and allow that determination fuel you as you charge forth on your journey of life.

Hi Jarrod. Nice post. It was a quick read with some inspirational gems in it. When we are faced with obstacles, we shouldn’t give up at first site. Instead, we should find a way to overcome their obstacles through trying something different or taking it one step at a time. Even though they may be difficult at first, if we persist, eventually we will find a way to break through them. Thanks for this message Jarrod. I’m in it to win. :)

    Hi Jarrod,
You offer sound advice here. Victory is imminent when our responses to life are YES or NO but never MAYBE. MAYBE is paralyzing, it leads to a state of helplessness. And when we have fun with our challenges and accept ‘Oopses’ as part of the process our responses to life are natural and easy. Thanks for the inspiring post.
I often remind myself, “For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” James 1:6

This scripture is right on time, Rob. Thanks for sharing. I like how you mentioned that YES or NO has a direct impact on whether we’re victorious, that’s so true. But MAYBE is paralyzing. Great stuff.

    Thanks for sharing!!

    how are you?
    thanks for sharing this.
i am reminded of the scripture: I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark…… Phil 3:13-14
enjoy the rest of the day
