Embrace Your Inner Change And Live In The Moment

Hi, welcome back! I hope you enjoy this post. Don't forget to comment, thanks!

What if you could take a magical trip into the future and evaluate your state of mind, your health, or lifestyle in general, would you change anything?

I hear so many people say if I knew what I knew now way back then, I would change (fill in the blank here.) What about those times where you thought, “if I had another chance to relive a certain situation I would change this or that”? Does this sound familiar?

This is a reminder of the constant thoughts that flood our minds and removes us from the current moment. There are few times when we’re actually comfortable in our current moment. Such times would include when we’re sleep, vacation, payday (smile), rest and relaxation or laying somewhere getting a full body massage, or spending quality time with friends and loved ones .

When you wake up and go to work, are you embracing the now, or are you looking forward to that party tonight with friends or that chance to come home and flop on the sofa? There’s a pattern that we experience when it comes to being in the moment. We’re either in the moment or we’re looking forward to a time of comfort that allows us to be in the moment.

Optimistic | OptimistSeems it all comes down to being comfortable huh?

You may think, well if I can just get to the day in time where I have this in order or I have that working in my favor, then I’ll be aye okay. When you’re comfortable with your current situation surrounding you and you have everything in place, then you will find it’s easier to conjure up a sense of satisfaction out of life. However if you’re not comfortable with your situation, then it’s rather difficult to be satisfied. It all comes down to our state of being comfortable.

We may often find ourselves allowing the external to take control of our happiness and peace. In actuality it should be the other way around. Rather than waiting to get your external things in place, you should work to get your inner spirit and mind lined up and in order. In other words, don’t allow the things going on around you to determine your happiness, make a choice inside to live a life of joy and satisfaction.

“Organization is more than just a clean room, it’s a state of mind.”

I always say “organization is more than just a clean room, it’s a state of mind.”

Sometime ago the Style Network put on a show called, Clean House. They would show families that lived in cluttered households. And they would have a team from Clean House to come and clean their house, rid it of all the clutter, and give it a make over.

In the ultimate sense that is a great treat for someone who has lived years and years in such a pig-stye. However, I always thought that it’s not so much the house that has a clutter problem, it’s the people in the house that has a mental issue. Hence the phrase I coined, “organization is more than just a clean room, it’s a state of mind.”

These families can have someone come into their home and spot clean it from top to bottom but if they have the same mind-set of cluttering the environment then the house will eventually fall back into the same state it was before.

Tying it all together

You can say well if I had such a cleaning crew to come clean my house it would stay that way forever. Would it really? Truthfully? Maybe for you it might, but for someone who is conditioned to not picking up after themselves then it would be a challenge to keep the home in the same clean state.

What am I saying? The external doesn’t change your state of satisfaction, you have to be renewed from the inside out.

Money, expensive cars, or the worlds greatest homes don’t bring happiness and satisfaction to you, they may help but in the long run you will fall right back into the mind-set of wanting more, more, and then some more. True happiness comes from making a choice to live life in the moment. Allow your appreciation for the small things in life to bring you satisfaction today.

Don’t wait until you have everything in order to decide that you’ve arrived. There are lessons all around you. There are pleasures of life are all around you. Make a decision to be satisfied with life from the inside out as you charge forth in your life journey.
