It’s Okay
It’s Okay
BySometimes you don’t always meet your goal. There are times when you fall short of your mark. That’s okay! Sometimes you just have to tell yourself that it’s okay.
One of the reasons you become overwhelmed in life is because of the pressure you put on yourself. Some people feel pressured by their parents to be their best. They judge themselves on who and what they should be, by comparing themselves to their peers. Does this apply to you?
I’m not saying that you should stop striving to be your best. Neither am I saying that if you fail to meet your goal, you should crumble and wallow in your sorrows. However I am saying that if you fail to conquer a goal, don’t beat yourself up about it.
The way you encourage yourself during times of defeat is key. It has a major impact on whether you get back up and try again. The term “It’s okay” is a phrase that should be in your vocabulary as it applies to failures in your life.

If it appears as though you’re failing at your goal, it’s okay, remember the saying “if at first you don’t succeed, try-try again.”
Maybe you failed to meet the major deadline that was beneficial for your career, it’s okay, remember that your steps are ordered by the Lord. There’s a reason for everything.
Maybe you came in last place, it’s okay, the last shall be first and the first shall be last.
You may not be progressing forward in life, it’s okay, things aren’t always the way they seem. The best is yet to come.
Maybe you scored slightly less than you wanted to on that test in school, it’s okay, it could always be worse. There’s a learning experience in everything. There’s probably a lesson in it for you.
You may be on that last stretch and seems like you have no energy, it’s okay. The scripture tells you, when you’re weak that’s you’re strong. Deep inside is a stronger you, continue to push forward.
Maybe you’re not where you want to be, it’s okay, thank God you’re not where you used to be.
Your best friend may have walked out on you, it’s okay, they lost the best friend they could ever have. You have so much going for you. There’s a better friend in store for you.
Maybe you didn’t get the job, it’s okay, when one door closes another one opens. God has the ultimate plan in mind. Wait patiently on the Lord.
You may be facing adversities right now, it’s okay, everyone faces adversities in life. The same way that God brought you out of the last one, He will bring you out of this one. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
You may feel locked up in bondage, it’s okay, it’s just a feeling. The Lord will free you and whom the Son sets free, is truly free indeed.
Maybe you’re sick, it’s okay. God is a healer. Don’t fret on what the doctors say, God has the last say so.
You may have haters in your life, it’s okay, let the hater’s be your motivators. Remember when you have haters, it means that you’re doing something right.
Maybe you didn’t get that promotion at work, it’s okay, that gives you an opportunity to perfect your craft so that next time promotion period rolls around, you are more than capable.
Maybe you had a bad day, it’s okay, everyone has a bad day every once in a while. Tomorrow is a new day with brand new mercies. If it’s the Lord’s will, plan to make tomorrow a better day.
You may have lost the big game, it’s okay, know that you played your best. A loss is a chance to practice NOT being a sore loser. It’s a chance to show congrats to your opponent. No matter how good you are there will always be someone better.
You may lack encouragement, it’s okay, even the world’s greatest motivators have been discouraged at some point in time. Remember, you make the choice to encourage yourself. Encourage yourself in the Lord just like David did.
No matter where you’re lacking in life, don’t beat yourself up about it. It’s important that you tell yourself that it’s okay. Don’t allow negative thoughts to cloud your mind. Focus on the positive attribute to every situation that you face as you charge forth in your life journey.

Hi Jarrod:
I enjoyed your post. You present a nice balance between pushing forward and accepting setbacks. I’m glad I happened onto your blog site.
Thanks,

@Shari – Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it, I hope it was beneficial for you!
That’s so true. We do have the tendency to pressure ourselves to much, and hence, to feel frustrated. What can keep us going is trusting our own happiness. If we are really passionate about something, we will never give up
@What…in heaven – Great point. Very well put!
hi jarrod,
how are you?
this post reminds me of 2 scriptures weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.also matt 11vs28 come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and i will give you rest.
take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
@Ayo – These scriptures are very applicable to this post. No day is so dark that all hope is lost. It could always be worse.
This post hit home to me for one simple reason – often in my life, I’ve allowed outcomes to dictate my belief about myself – my self esteem even. And I’ve found that even while doing websites, there is the temptation to allow a ‘bad’ day to interfere with the larger picture. A bad day in terms of statistics. Maybe my bounce rate was high, maybe there weren’t many visitors that day.
We should all remember to not beat ourselves up over outcomes which are less than perfect because when you think about it – every outcome is going to be less than perfect. That’s just the nature of life. There will always be challenges and growth, obstacles and overcoming.
@Jeremy – Me too, I’ve been the same way. I’ve realized that life is a roller coaster full of ups and downs. Sometimes we have a bad day but we can make the choice to accept what has happened and embrace it and plan to shoot higher tomorrow.
