What technique do you use when winning lost souls to Christ? What kind of bait are you using?

Gospel music today has been revolutionized in the attempt to appeal to the crowd who needs to hear an encouraging word. I think this is amazing! Think about it… if gospel artists made songs that still sound like “Oh Happy Day” then would we only be appealing to those who are already won to Christ?

When witnessing to lost souls, you can’t be stuck in a traditional mind-set. You must step out of your comfort zone and put yourself in the mind frame of that person who is struggling but has no where to turn. How will that person know that their struggle will soon be over, when the message Christ is only being played on the gospel stations and not reaching the very person who actually needs to hear it?

Inspirational Messages | Fishing In The Deep There was a time when the pioneers of gospel were being judged because they were recording songs that didn’t sound like the typical gospel song.

I believe that they realized something important. They realized that they had to change their approach in order that somebody might be saved. They had to write and produce songs that were appealing to the crowd that doesn’t get to hear the Gospel of Christ.

They believed in fishing in the deep, in other words, they went outside of there comfort zone and fished in territory that wasn’t ordinarily a gospel territory. The style of music may have changed but the message is still the same.

What am I saying? There are some Christians that have a “holier than thou” attitude. Forgive me for being abrasive, but how do you expect win loss souls with a snooty, stuck up mentality. I believe God is looking for believers who are transparent… someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty so that someone’s life may be changed forever.

You can say so much without opening your mouth. I believe that if you present yourself in a loving manner, then people will sense the love of Christ that is within you. They may come to you asking, “What is it that keeps you smiling when there is so much turmoil around us?”

That is your opportunity share your testimony. Show them that sometimes they have to smile regardless of their situation. Show them that Jesus love them and that He will not put more on them than they can bear. Be transparent; don’t just go to your next door neighbor, but go out in the deep and share the love of Christ as you go through your life journey.
