How To Deal With Negative Thoughts Associated With Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone.
ByLife is like a game of chess. Many times the enemy will attack us harder when we are making strides that are detrimental to the enemy’s camp. In other words, when the enemy sees us making a move that will take us to a new dimension in our life, he will attack us where it matters most, our minds.
The bible says for we wrestle not against flesh in blood, but against principalities, powers and rulers of the darkness. When we’re doing something good, the enemy will plant strongholds into our minds to make us think, “You’re no good, you’ll never make it” or “you’re not qualified for this; what makes you think you can achieve such a high goal.”
I recently started a youtube channel and I am video blogging on a regular basis. For years I’ve always wanted to start doing videos but I’ve been putting it off for the longest. Until one day recently when I made a decision that I’m not going to wait any longer. I realized that the more I wait, the more I’m giving the enemy power and control over my dreams.
I’ll never forget when I posted my first video, I remember thinking, “What in the world am I doing? This is not me, this is not what I’m used to doing.” Does this sound familiar?
Then I realized that the enemy was planting those thoughts into my mind. I then counteracted that thought by thinking, “well of course I’m going to feel uneasy right now. I’m starting something new that I’ve never done before, but in time, I will not only get used to this, but I’m going to do this with excellence.”
When we fight the enemy with Word of God which reminds us that we can do all things through Christ with strengthens us, or scriptures that reassure us that we’re not fighting against flesh and blood but principalities and strongholds, then we are taking control over our dreams and our destiny. The enemy trembles at the name of Jesus, therefore our best defense against the enemy is to fight him with the word of God.
Next time you take a step out of your comfort zone and do something that causes a threat to the enemies camp, and you struggle with the negative thoughts that cause self-doubt, stand strong and know that it’s the trick of the enemy to convince you that you won’t make it. Keep pressing and you will see a mighty work of God in your life as you go through your life journey.
