Watch Your Actions, For They Become Habits

Hi, welcome back! I hope you enjoy this post. Don't forget to comment, thanks!

Did you know that it takes two to three weeks to make or break a habit? That’s what the studies show. There is good news in this statistic because at least we know that we can change anything we want to change at will. The question is what are we willing to change?

For much of my adult life I’ve been a night owl; some would call it staying up burning the midnight oil. I woke up tired, didn’t have a lot of energy and I felt groggy for at least the first couple of hours in the morning.

I recently made a decision to promise myself that I will be in bed, sleep, with the lights out before midnight, if I can help it. Now someone may say, “well, midnight is still late.” Let’s just say for me, that’s a start. Needless to say my next goal is to be in bed before eleven.

Inspirational Messages | Watch your actions, for they become habits I noticed that when I started doing this, I woke up more refreshed and more energetic. I will continue to do this for the next two or three weeks until it becomes a habit. In other words, my sleep rhythm will change; I will naturally wind down before the clock strikes midnight.

What are some habits that you need to change? I encourage you to evaluate your habits and write down some things that you would like to change. Make small obtainable goals detailing what habits you would like to create or change. Note how you would like to change those habits and act on them accordingly.

In order to become a better person we must first access what we’re doing wrong. Yes it’s true, denial is not just a river in Egypt, it will hold us back from progressing to a new dimension in life.

Maybe you have a hard time being negative. The good thing is that you can change that habit. You can change your thoughts. For tips on how to change your thoughts, check out my previous article, How to Change Your Negative Thoughts.

My friend, all habits are not bad. Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Make a commitment to yourself today to be the best person that you can be as you go forth in your life journey.
