Have you ever been inspired to the point where you feel like you can conquer the world, and the next day it’s like all that inspiration has been sucked out of you? We notice from experience that inspiration comes in spurts.  How do we maintain a constant level of motivation for anything that we apply ourselves to in life?

I feel that many times we loose our inspiration when we take our mind off the goal, or whatever makes us inspired. Coming up in the church, I’ve heard many stories of people leaving church on
Sunday “full” and inspired from the message that went forth, however by the time Friday comes those same people are running on “empty” or in other words, their spirit is lacking in motivation.

The world has a saying for people who struggle financially, and it’s: “living paycheck to paycheck.” That’s how we feel sometimes when our “Friday” comes, except in our case it’s a “spiritual paycheck.” It’s the paycheck we get on Sunday morning when we’ve been ministered to, our spirit has been fed and we’re reminded that anything we ask in Jesus’ name, He will provide.

We know that the Word of God tells us that we are over-comers and that we have more than enough but many times we don’t make the time to speak the word over ourselves on a constant basis. We wait until Sunday morning until we’re reminded that we are more than a conqueror and we can do anything that we put our minds and hands to do.

Proverbs 23:7 tells us “So as a man thinketh, so is he.” In other words if you focus on the fact that you have a long way to go before your goal is met, then that will put a damper on your spirit. However, if you wake up and declare that you are victorious and that you are one day closer to accomplishing your goal it will encourage your spirit and your mind.

We set the mode for our day, not our pastor, not our mentor, it is up to us to encourage and motivate ourselves You don’t have to wait until Sunday morning to get your paycheck, make a conscious decision today that you will take accountability over yourself and motivate yourself on a continual basis as you go through your life journey.
