The worst part about life is not being prepared for the attacks of the enemy.
Many times when we are going through our trials, we’re so quick to jump on our knees and pray for the breakthrough.
When we receive our breakthrough, and things are looking good, (the money is right, you’re on top of your bills and everybody is treating you right…etc) then it’s so easy to get out of the habit of praying to God everyday and thanking Him.
Understand that no one is perfect, I’m a testament to that. I used to be the worst at jumping on my knees at the first sign of a storm pleading to God for deliverance, ASAP.(I raise my hand high on that one!)
However, as soon as I got my breakthrough and things were looking up, It was so convenient for me to skip a prayer or two here and there because I didn’t feel the need to intercede as much. I didn’t acknowledge God as much as I should. This is my story, my confession.
Friend, I don’t know what your story is or what your background may be, but be reminded that life is full of ups and downs. The bible tells us that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. He is constantly on the prowl, looking for the next opportunity to take you out, whether it be physically, spiritually or emotionally.
If the enemy can cause you to loose your mind by bringing unbearable storms your way he will do his best to make that happen. What am I saying, there will always be storms in your life. You’re either getting ready to face a difficulty, already in one, getting ready to come out of one or you’ve reached your breakthrough and are celebrating. It’s a never ending cycle.
I’m here to tell you to brace for impact. In other words, be prepared at all times with your sword, armour and shield. Even when things are looking up you should always be prayerful. As a matter of fact, when you are at a place where you have no worries and everything looks alright, that is when you need to prepare the hardest for your storm.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you should speak a bad circumstance over your life, nor am I saying that you should expect storms. No. I’m saying that you must be on your guard at all times. You never know when the enemy is getting ready to plot an attack.
If you’re not prepared for the attacks of the enemy, he will catch you off guard. Don’t let the enemy catch you off guard without your sword and shield. Fight the good fight of faith. Pray to God at all times that He keeps you. Your faith must be strong in the good times and in the bad times.
I’m reminded of the scripture Luke 22:31 where it says “And the Lord said, ‘Simon, Simon!’ Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 – ‘But I have prayed for you that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to me, strengthen your brethren.”
The proof is in the scripture, the enemy desires to have you, as the scripture says “…that he may sift you as wheat.” Friend, don’t let your faith fail you. Stay motivated, stay prayerful and be on your guard so that when the attack of the enemy comes you are equipped to stand strong!
