“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16).
There’s nothing too hard for God. When you’re faced with adversity, know that God hears and answers all prayers.
There’s no one that is not worthy of praying to God. Friend, remember that when you’re praying all you’re doing is simply having a talk with God.
There are many ways that the enemy will come at you and try to deter your focus, especially when you’re fulfilling God’s will for your life. When the enemy plants an attack on your life and it seems like the weight of the world is coming down on you, go to the Lord in prayer.
Remember, if God be for you, nobody or nothing can be against you. You are a vessel full of power.
When should you pray?
1 Thessalonians 5:17 simply says to Pray without Ceasing. When I was younger, I thought that the only way you should pray is to kneel down on your knees and pray to the Lord. Although that is a great way to pray, it’s not the only way to pray.
You should constantly have a prayerful spirit as you go through your day. From the moment you awake in the morning, to the time that you lay down to rest for the night, God commands us to pray without ceasing. Here is a list of times when you should pray.
-
On your morning drive into work.
-
When you arrive to work, at your desk.
-
At school before a test.
-
When you’re in church.
-
While you’re shopping at the grocery store.
-
When you’re studying for a test.
-
When you’re discouraged and in despair.
-
When everything is alright.
-
When everything is not alright/When you’re facing a difficult circumstance.
-
When you’re happy.
-
When you’re sad.
-
When you find your way.
-
When you’ve lost your way and don’t know which way to go.
-
In the presence of people.
-
When you’re alone.
Prayer is indeed a powerful weapon. When you get in trouble don’t look to the left or to the right, don’t try to fight your battle on your own, but look to the Lord in prayer.
God’s love is an unconditional love. In other words He doesn’t react to our prayers in the way that man reacts to our prayers. He delights in the fact that we come to Him.
Proverbs 3:5 says Trust the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. You may be facing a trial or situation and you may not know what to do or how it’s going to turn out. I encourage you to trust in the Lord and although you’re tempted to try and figure it out, put it in God’s hands, He will work it out.
Know that God is an on time God, He may not come when we want Him but He’s right on time. Continue to pray and know that with much prayer there’s much power. Little prayer, little power; No prayer, no power.
