But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV)

You should aspire to set an example for those who are influential in your life. Many times when we’re fellowshipping with close friends, we are either following another person’s example or leading by example.

When you’re following another person’s example, you are like a five year old who is soaking up all of the energy within it’s environment. However, when you’re leading by example you have a very powerful position.

You can choose to take that position and use it for good or use it for evil. Friends I encourage you to be the light that your friends need to see. Rise up and practice being a positive role model for your circle of influence.

The scripture above talks about the fruit of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These are the examples that Jesus displayed when He lived on earth.

When you hear the scripture talk about being more like Christ, it’s talking about exercising the fruit of the Spirit. Jesus led by example, although He was treated unjustly, He is now seated at the right hand of God.

In Galatians 5:19, it describes the works of the flesh as adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, self ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness and revelries. It goes on say that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Friends, when you practice being a positive role model, there will be all kinds of forces of darkness to come against you. People will criticize you and accuse you of being perfect, or “goody two-shoes” (as the world calls it) but know that you are a child of God.

We are a chosen generation, there’s no kingdom that can stand against us. No weapon formed against us shall not prosper. In other words, there is no way that the enemy can come against us as long as God is on our side.

I’m here to remind you to always do what is right and be the positive role model for those around you. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, for some people you’re the only Jesus they’ll ever see. Represent Christ right!
