Forgiveness Is A Must
Forgiveness Is A Must

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13 NIV)
Forgiveness is one of the ultimate traits that we all can bear. Although it’s not easy to forgive, it is a survival trait that we must have.
When you go through life with a spirit of unforgiveness, you take on the stress and hurt that a wrong-doer can transfer onto you.
When you forgive others that have done you wrong, you remove that burden off your shoulders and release the wrongful act that has been done to you. Also by forgiving, you’re saying I will not let this weigh my spirit down, I’m going to forget it and move on.
Whether someone does something to offend you and apologizes or not, you have to let it go, not necessarily for the other party but for yourself. When you don’t forgive, you allow them to take power over you.
I believe forgiveness is one of the driving forces behind unconditional love. You may not forget the wrong that another has done to you but you must forgive.
In this life, you’ll find that people will offend you with no remorse. I’ve come to realize that’s just a way of life.
Nonetheless, you must choose to forgive; Remember Jesus forgave us when He bore the weight of our sins on the cross. And ’til this day, we still commit sins and the Lord has Grace and Mercy enough to wake us up in the morning.
Remember no one is perfect. We are all human and we all make mistakes, but the bible says that we must forgive in order to be forgiven. The proof is in Luke 6:37 (NIV). It says “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”
Friends it’s time to rise to a new level and let go of anything that hinders your walk with Christ. Hebrews 12:1 KIV says “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”
Make the choice today to put aside every weight of sin and unforgiveness and go forth in your journey in love, faith, patience and perseverance.
