Matthew 16:26 says “For what would it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul.”

Are you setting a good example for those around you to follow after? Remember that as sons and daughters of God we are here to live a life that is pleasing in His sight.

A wise man presented an illustration that when an explosion happens, an external reaction happens. However an implosion is the catalyst that sparks it’s own reaction within itself.

Are you an Explosion or an Implosion?

You should aspire to be the Implosion that sparks the reaction. In other words be a leader not a follower. Be that light that your friends need to see.

I’m reminded of the dreaded saying that I heard so much when I was a child. “If all of your friends jumped off the Empire State Building, would you?”

Til this day I can remember all the eye rolls and sighs I did, every time I heard that saying. However, as adults we must sincerely ask the question and be honest with ourselves.

Are you setting an example for others to follow?  Wouldn’t it be nice if you can gain the whole world and yet keep your souls?

I believe that people look at your actions versus the words you say.

Do As I Say Not As I Do

I believe, for example, when you tell your kids not to curse and you live by the “do as I say not as I do” creed, that you are setting a bad example and misleading them.

Children are looking at your actions to determine what right is from wrong.

You can be the implosion that sparks the reaction from those around you. Make a point today to be that light in a dark world that your friends see. For some people you are the only Jesus they will see.
