Why Should You Smile More?
Why Should You Smile More?
ByThere’s a saying that when you frown, you frown alone but when you smile, the world smiles with you. There is nothing like a warm smile that brightens your day. Studies show that smiling is one of the most inviting body language that you can use. It takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile, so why not smile more?
Smiling for a minimum of 30 seconds has been shown to release endorphins into the human body. Smiling has been proven to be an instant mood changer. When you smile you communicate to yourself that everything is going to be okay.
Some people find it harder to smile than others because, over a period of time, people have become conditioned to not smiling. Therefore, when those people smile it comes off as a non-sincere smile. People have a keen since of ability to determine a fake smile from a genuine smile.
One way to improve this is to practice smiling behind closed doors. However, while doing this, practice smiling with the whole face instead of just your mouth. A genuine smile involves the whole face. When you smile, your eyes crease and the muscles under them tense up. Your eyebrows dip down a little and your cheeks fill out and pull upwards.

People respond more to a smiling face and when they encounter a warm inviting smile, they want to know, “whats the good news?” Practice smiling behind closed doors and it will become second nature to you. You will find yourself smiling without thinking about it. As you learn to smile more, you will notice a difference in your mood and how others respond to you.
